Pull Out Day

Pull Out Day is the sophomore class tradition, when the sophomore class gets the opportunity to step into the role of an upperclassmen by performing their first “Whoop!” It is an afternoon event that occurs in the late spring. Traditionally, Pull Out Day has coincided with a baseball game, but that is completely up to the class. In the past, class members have thrown out the ceremonial first pitch, taken pictures next to the iconic "WHOOP" letters, and the Yell Leaders lead a Fighting Texas Aggie Yell Practice!

Popularized by the class of '19, Pull Out Day t-shirts are now easily recognized on campus, with their classic baseball jersey design and class year on the back. Along with helping to put on the event itself, all of the profits from shirt sales directly support the Class Gift.

The Phrase “Pulling Out” comes from the Old Army and is a term used to describe an underclassman using an upperclassman’s privileges without permission. It is generally good bull for a sophomore to pull out the junior’s wildcat.
